Mr. Rutherford's areas of practice include Church and School Representation, Complex Litigation, Class Actions, Employment Claims, Childhood Abuse Claims and General Liability Litigation. Mr. Rutherford has served as litigation counsel in more than one hundred cases involving claims of sexual abuse. In 2009, he received the Papal Benemerenti Medal in recognition of legal services provided to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange.
Thomas Rutherford graduated Cum Laude from Western State University College of Law in 1997 where he served as Staff Editor of Law Review. He was awarded American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure, Legal Writing, and Constitutional Law and was on the Distinguished Honor Roll and Dean's List.
He was admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California in 1997 as well as the United States District Court (Central and Southern Districts of California). In 2001 Mr. Rutherford was admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
